    CONCERT JAZZ BAND  

The Concert Jazz Band has established an award winning reputation. The group won The Cavalcade of Bands Championship in 2006. Generally, performances take place on weekends. Members (grades 9-12) are chosen by audition. Practices begin at the conclusion of foobtall season. Practices are usually twice each week either 2:30 - 5:30PM or 6:00 - 9:00PM. All practices and performances are mandatory.   JAZZ LAB BAND  

Jazz Lab Band membership (grades 9-12) is by audition. Announced yearly, auditions are held in the fall of the school year. Students are exposed to a wide variety of jazz literature and styles. Improvisation opportunities are provided and jazz band ensemble played is stressed. The band performs for selected school activities, jazz festivals and competitions, and public events. Rehearsals are twice each week either 2:30 - 5:30PM or 6:00 - 8:00PM. Director - Dan Friel
