Department Members

Mr. David Apfelbaum earned is Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science  from American University, his Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Holy Family University, and his Autism Endorsement (anticipated May 2021) from Holy Family University.  Mr. Apfelbaum started his teaching career at Bensalem Township High School in 2016.  For the 2016-2017 school year he taught various business classes at Council Rock High School North.  Starting in the 2017-2018 school year he began teaching a Council Rock High School South.  Currently, Mr. Apfelbaum is the department coordinator for Business, Computers, and Information Technology department at South. Mr. Apfelbaum is the co-advisor to the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the School Store.  

Ms. Derrin Cardia has been a Business Education Teacher since February 2011 and looks looking forward to continuing to enrich students' knowledge and lives through the various business courses she teaches and the involvement she hopes to have at South! She brings experience teaching a wide variety of business courses at other public high schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Derrin graduated from Rider University with a Comprehensive Business Degree and Event Planning Minor, which has allowed her to gain business experience to compliment her classroom assignments with real-life examples.  She also played Division One softball all four years at Rider University.  In addition to her bachelor's degree, she holds a Master's in Leadership in Technology which she completed in 2014.

Mr. Peter Ockenhouse earned his Bachelor of Sceince Degree in Technology Education from Millersville University and his Master's Degree from Gratz College. Mr. Ockenhouse started teaching in Council Rock in 2010 at CR North. After 2 years at North he took a position at Richboro Middle School where he spent the next three years. After that he took a position at CR South where he currently teaches. He is also co-advisor to the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the School Store.
